Had a similar thing at work today... Is StickyKeys enabled? Press shift 5 times in a row quickly to find out... I have a client with a fairly new Dell Vostro notebook. The mouse will act as if the shift key pressed. I can't get it to stop selecting. once in a great while it won't but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. She had the Onscreen Keyboard activated and the shift key appeared as if I was pressed. Her keyboard was acting strange as to the numbers and such but once I cleared the Onscreen keyboard that cleared that issue. But I still have mouse issues. I can't find a reference to this anywhere. I'm wondering if the keyboard has a short in it.
