[dba-Tech] Windows & hibernation

In this household we're on our 4th & 5th Windows laptops in twelve 
years. On every one of them, hibernation is screwed up. I figured that 
couldn't still be the case with my spanking new 1710 Vostro. Forget it. 
Coming back from a period hibernation, what do I see when I click on my 
name icon?

"Preparing to hibernate..."

How the guy at Microsoft who gave us the message "1 files copied" also 
get the hibernation job?
