[dba-Tech] Audio editor

Hi all

Some of you must be experts in this: 

I'm looking for a simple but high-quality editor for wav files (cut pieces out, adjust volume, fade up and down, etc.), preferably free to use.

When you google on this you drown; you can't tell the gems from the crab, and I don't have the time to locate and study reviews.
