The beginning of all small computer operating systems started some 40 years ago. Microsoft Windows would not have existed like it does today if it was not for the first small computer OS... UNIX. Even though it ran on the Main Frames and Minis of the day its foot print was small, 20K and 16K of memory and it was a true multi-tasking and multi-user OS.
