[dba-Tech] VoIP with a smartphone?

Oh right, I see what you mean. The new smartphones have wi-fi on them, so
they can connect to any wireless access points in the area, same as a laptop
might do. Skype would run on the smartphone, and just use the wifi
connection to communicate.

==========Jon, a smartphone would depend on wireless, correct? So, I'm
assuming the smartphone has to close enough to the router to snag that
connection. Correct? I don't see how I can sit in the airport and plug into
my wireless connection using my home computer -- so is skype running on the
smartphone or on my computer?

Totally confused how this might work, as you can tell.
