Well, confession time....I do like adventure games. The less graphics the better. I just loved the one, I think it was called Zork or sommat like that. You know the ones where you type in "pick up sword" and it responds "done" or the clever ones where you are on board a pirate ship and type in "Weigh Anchor" and it responds with "78 Kilograms - although why you would want to weigh a piece of metal is beyond me" and you go "uh?" until the penny drops. Graphic games are far too fast for my declining brain synapse - I get killed before I press start. Also, I have played networked Quake, but the other guys in the office got a great kick out of ganging up and zapping me just because I am better looking- sometimes it is hard being perfect! I was brought up on games, from Jet Set Willy and Repton on our old BBC, to Bubble Ghost on our Amstrad 1512, Empire on my dad's 286, right up to Company of Heroes and Empire: Total War on my current Core 2 Quad... If they only made Guitar Hero for the PC, I could sell my playstation! :-) Jon -----Original Message----- From: dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of Max Wanadoo Sent: Thursday, June 18, 2009 5:22 PM To: 'Discussion of Hardware and Software issues' Subject: Re: [dba-Tech] 64 vs. 32 Bit Oh, how disappointed is this. Jon, you play GAMES! The last game I played was on a Commodore 64 called the Pharoah's Curse. It was also my first game and I thought what a waste of time. Chasing an animation that somebody dreamt up. It is like watching Coronation St. And E.Enders.... ...and I was looking up to yu.... But if I buy a new laptop with 6 GB would you install Vista Ultimate 64 bit, or would you consider formatting the new machine and trying to run Win 2K8 on a laptop, I am worrying about drivers and compatability of audio, video, blue tooth etc. Actually as I type this, I think that following is best Laptop - install 64 Vista Ultimate and any VM I care for Desktop - Install 64 Win2K8 and any VM I care for Thanks MArk 2009/6/18 Tydda Jon - Slough <jon.tydda at lonza.com> > We have several servers here using Vmware.
