Hi Rocky, The easiest way is to just take the hard drive out (you will need to remove it to replace it anyway) and take it with you. Most have a small frame around them with tiny screws, just leave the frame until you get it back home and lay the 2 drives with the same side up and move the frame. Some LT manufacturers also have an adaptor that plugs into IDE's. It's easy to move but again pay attention to top and bottom. It does matter which one you buy and it needs to be a 2.5 inch, but if you take yours with you (It will fit in your shirt pocket) it's real easy to compare. Also be sure to look on the board where they hang some of the hard drives at Fry's, that is where the specials are. When I got mine for $49 most were &69 or more and as I said I was looking for SATA (Serail ATA) vs (PATA) Parallel ATA more commonly called IDE. Fry's does not stock a lot of IDE's for laptops anymore so if they are out, you may have go on line. If you do it is real important that you look for the correct type 2.5" IDE (PATA) or 2.5" SATA. You will learn a lot about SATA and or PATA at Fry's. The laptop drives look the same until you look at the plug, then it's easy. HTH Bill Rocky Smolin wrote: > Cool.
