[dba-Tech] Windows notification

Windows Genuine Advantage (it's so they can keep an eye on everyone in a
vain attempt at curbing pirated software.) It shouldn't hurt anything but if
it causes a problem let us know. There is a (rather painful) way to rid
yourself of it.

Why am I suddenly getting a Windows Notification message when I reboot? It 
wants to determine if I'm running a legitimate copy of Windows -- what the 
hell is this and how do I get rid of it???? I've been running the same copy 
of Windows for years and all the sudden I have to convince MS that it's 
legitimate?
