Owen Sound, Ontario: A man has been charged after a manufactured home reported missing from a property in Southgate Township was found nearby. On June 8, a Brampton man reported to provincial police that his 10-year-old, 45-foot double-wide manufactured home had been removed from his property in Southgate Township, northwest of Toronto. The home, valued at more than than $30,000, was found on a property, "a relatively short distance from where it was taken," police said. While poplic investigated the ownership of the home, documents were produced that were found to be fraudulent, police said. Jeffrey La Forest, 43, has been charged with theft over $5,000, mischief over $5,000 and uttering a forged document. He is scheduled to appear on July 21. -- QMI Agency. Clearly this was no mere smash-and-grab operation; you need some serious equipment to pull something like this off, as it were. Turns out, though, the actual distance from the original site to the new one was less than one kilometre. Maybe he should have painted it or built a deck or something to disguise it. Arthur
