Hi Gustav: I have a mixed network with both Linux and Windows machines and it is great in that I have access to best of both worlds but keeping the network connected and all the stations working together can be a real problem especially when there is a new Ubuntu release or Windows update. It seems that the problems are caused by subtle changes in security and network protocols. Many an evening has been wasted resolving these bazaar problems. Fortunately, for the internet and the flexibility of Samba. As to your specific problem I can not speak. Hi all Suddenly a WinXP client machine couldn't see a NAS shared by workgroup it has been accessing for years. Other machines - Win7, Win2003, and WinXP - could still see the NAS. I investigated "everything" without finding a clue. Finally I did a system restore to Jun. 14th morning ... and voilá, the network drive was back! Anyone else have seen this? I've searched on Google hi-and-lo without finding anything at all which I find a bit strange. /gustav _______________________________________________ dba-Tech mailing list dba-Tech at databaseadvisors.com http://databaseadvisors.com/mailman/listinfo/dba-tech Website: http://www.databaseadvisors.com
