You can also run your own cloud server and access your files which are stored at home safely from anywhere.

That's what I'm doing with my Pogoplug. There's a native client for android and iOS to access and sync your files with. You don't even need to buy a separate unit. You can also install the server on your desktop and turn your computer into a cloud server.
