A lot of these home cloud services will do on the fly transcoding and streaming to reformat your videos to make a smaller footprint on your bandwidth. But, yes, that is always going to be an issue when you are working completely mobile/remote (whether on a laptop, phone or tablet). But if the world is going mobile, costs should come down eventually and be more competitive. Eventually.
