Not particularly good for Microsoft but I believe a more diverse market is a very good thing. For any one company to achieve a monopoly or close to it, is bad for innovation and client support. All major players eventually become arrogant and lazy and without another company threatening their existence they become unresponsive and self-righteous. This may be just the wakeup call that MS needs so they will become re-acquainted with their real clients, the ones that pay the bills that keep the lights on. Maybe in the future incidence like the latest IE mistake will be taken seriously.
