The patent farce: Below is a link to a good summary of the patent farce or war between Apple and Samsung. Considering that most of the internal hardware, its engineering designs and even the latest "retina" technology is owned by Samsung, the last sham courtroom case is little more than a cruel joke, that will just cost the public more and improve nothing. As most of the hardware and software used in Apple was created by other companies, Apple's whole case can be rendered down to the following and I quote: " But the bigger issue isn't copying, or imitation, but the broken nature of the patent and so-called intellectual property industries. In an industry where last year's must-have is already out of date, there is something obscene about a court case that involves, among other things, a dispute about patents and design registrations such as the one "for overall design of the product, including the rectangular shape, the rounded corners, the silver edges, the black face, and the display of 16 colorful icons". " Note: the rectangular shape of iPhone and all Smartphones for that matter is a mathematical design standard that has stretched thousands of year. The Greek Parthenon is an example of that particular shape and it is reflected in the shape of virtually every soup can for the last couple of centuries.
