Hi Arthur Depends. I believe Pentium 4 and 2 GB ram is the minimum acceptable hardware. I haven't seen an "upgrade", only what really is a new install. What's left is the old Windows folder and perhaps user accounts. /gustav -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] På vegne af Tydda Jon - Lonza Slough Sendt: 13. november 2013 14:36 Til: Discussion of Hardware and Software issues Emne: Re: [dba-Tech] XP -> Windows 8 Upgrade I'm not sure I'd do this. I upgraded my XP desktop to 7 and it was ok, but it's pretty slow. I would recommend a hardware refresh at the same time... Has anyone done this? Are there any known problems or hassles that he might face in doing this? I haven't done this, so I didn't have a ready answer. My experience involves Windows 7 -> 8, and that was about as painless as could be. Any advice I can pass on to my friend would be greatly appreciated. -- Arthur
