[dba-Tech] Cloud prices are (have) coming down

 Hi Gustav --

Did you scroll down on this web page:  https://www.digitalocean.com/one-click-apps/  ?

If I'm not mistaken besides "LAMP Stack" DigitalOcean seems to be supporting also Mean, Dokku, Docker etc.

If they can add a "55 seconds setup" for Hadoop hosting and, e.g., add Go ( http://golang.org/ ) to support, let's call it "Mean+ Stack" that would be more than enough for me.

>IMO Microsoft will have to lower their hosting plans even more to effectively compete with such hosting proposals as DigitalOcean.
>Also (that could be only my impression?) when reading through MS Azure hosting plans and usage docs - it all looks so "heavy" to start with unlike DigitalOcean...

>>Hi Gustav:

>>It all sounds very good. Have you started testing software on Azure yet?
>>
>>If you want to get away from the big companies, for Cloud hosting, there is also some excellent rates out there. Here is one example:

>>...and...
>>
>> https://www.digitalocean.com/pricing
>>
>>You can get one TB on SSD drives for $5.00 a month and with a code add another month free. No price increases after the initial month(s) are up...it is just the regular rate and a large number of droplets to choose from...deploy a site in around a minute...or you can rent space by the hour for testing projects.
