Hi Shamil Yes, we (well, mostly Rita, my wife) have a Surface 2 Pro. With 256 GB disk, micro-SD Card slot, and standard USB 3.0 you don't need much more to start but can add as demand shows up. The only add-on is an Xtrfy Leather Case and the a Microsoft wedge mouse (Bluetooth). It's a lovely machine with clever details and a superb feeling of quality. We use it mostly as a tablet so we manage with the on-screen keyboard; for serious typing we have lots of other machines. Also, with the high screen resolution, working with the desktop is mostly a joke as everything is so small. It is doable, and a pen is included, but the small tablet screen proves why Microsoft had to create the Metro/Modern touch interface. The only feature I miss is built-in 3G/4G mobile data access as in smartphones. However, I have a USB device for my old laptop we can use, so we manage. /gustav ________________________________________ Fra: dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com <dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com> på vegne af Salakhetdinov Shamil <mcp2004 at mail.ru> Sendt: 5. april 2014 20:24 Til: Discussion of Hardware and Software issues Emne: Re: [dba-Tech] Do you know what Intel tablet hardware and software they use? Hi Gustav -- Yes, Fresh Paint looks not bad. But as John noted on videos Manga Studio ( http://manga.smithmicro.com/manga-studio.html ) is used. I didn't know about Manga Studio and I'm quite impressed with it. I'm not going to start comics/manga authoring but I suppose Manga Studio could be used (here) for web sites and/or UI/UX drafting/sketching. Do you own MS Surface Pro 2? If yes, do you like it? BTW, I have got collected links on the set of hardware/accessories, which could be used with MS Surface Pro 2 - here it's (do you have anything else/better to add to this list? ): Microsoft - Surface Pro 2 with 128GB - Dark Titanium ($999.99) http://goo.gl/9cfQy8 MoKo Rotatory Detachable Type / Touch Keyboard Cover Companion Sleeve Case for Microsoft Surface Pro / Surface Pro 2 10.6" Inch Windows 8 Tablet, BLACK ($24.99) http://goo.gl/dNbRK3 Microsoft Surface Pro Pen ($29.99) http://goo.gl/Dr11yG Microsoft - Type Cover 2 - Black ($119.00) http://goo.gl/R1CZxV Snugg Microsoft Surface 1 & 2 Leather Wallet Case in Black for RT and Pro - High Quality Case with Card Slot, Pocket and Premium Nubuck Fibre Interior ($29.99) http://goo.gl/0hYVq3 Car DC Adapter ($21.99) http://goo.gl/KpXmTU Microsoft Surface Car Charger ($49.99) http://goo.gl/brfftV StarTech.com MDP2HDMI Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Video Adapter Converter ($13.98) http://goo.gl/d6BRxf Plugable UD-3900 USB 3.0 Universal Docking Station with Dual Video Outputs for Windows 8.1, 8, 7, XP (HDMI and DVI/ VGA to 2048x1152, Gigabit Ethernet, Audio, 2 USB 3.0 Ports, 4 USB 2.0 Ports, 4A AC Power Adapter) ($109) http://goo.gl/Ag6DBO -------------------------------------------------------------------- Plugable Basic USB Keyboard and Mouse Bundle (Extra Long Cables) ($19.95) http://plugable.com/products/usb-kmb1 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Docking Station for Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2 ($207.00) http://goo.gl/5g50al ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you. -- Shamil Sat, 5 Apr 2014 13:11:01 +0000 from Gustav Brock <gustav at cactus.dk>: >Hi Shamil > >Yes, several keyboards are available with a magnetic Snap-On. > >The surface is glass but that's not a problem.
