There are always people asking why Linux is not more dominant on the desktop than it currently is. The easiest explanation is because Linux desktop is not advertised or comes by default on virtually any PCs. 

Until these changes happen, Linux will remain the private preserve of the technical crowd but when thinking about where to go as XP fades from the world's memory, here is an article written by a novice and simply titled, "The Many Alternative Computing Worlds of Linux"
