So, we still don't know exactly WHY it refused to work before. It sounds more and more like one of those 'something-stuck-in-its-craw' episodes, where some bit gets flipped - possibly by a momentary power sag, or a nano-second conflict between two applications, or whatever - and the corruption just stays forever. Dang! I wish there were a nice piece of software that give us a quick (and understandable) read-out of what happened. Glad you got it working. Yay!
