According to the UK government Ubuntu Linux 12.04 was the clear winner when it came to security.

Things of course can change rapidly and there have been many improvements to Ubuntu 12.04 as the current version is now 13.10 and new improved version will be arriving in April. Rest assured Ubuntu will be striving for a perfect score but what about Windows?
