My personal reaction is so what. I am in the who cares what browser is used as long as the BBC web site works.

When one of the world's biggest browser developers drops a new platform that is big news. When it is Windows 8.x that is bigger news. Considering that Windows 8.x is the most advertised application/platform (and expensive...Microsoft is paying more on advertising the product than it makes in sales) in history and their growth is limp to say the least...the graphs say it all.
