Hi Stuart:

I have looked at you applications and you have done an incredible job. :-) The Solar Calculator is particularly substantial...I can see just how much work you have done.

The proof of whether Basic4Android can do the job is definitely not in question and now that it is expanding to another platform is excellent.

Subject: [dba-Tech] Basic4Android and now Basic4IOS

As many of you are aware, I've recently been using Basic4Android to develop Android apps.
For those looking for a multi-platform tool, the good news is that Basic4IOS is coming soon
for iDevices. It's currently in closed Beta release:

>From the B4A forums, this is from the first posting (back in July) of a 27 page thread. (It's
still looking like v1.00 will be out this year, there is already one demo app in the Apple store.):

"The work on B4i has already started. B4i will create native iOS applications. The language
will be the same as B4A and B4J. The APIs will be similar in some cases and different in
others.

In order to develop with B4i you will need an iOS device, an Apple developer account and a
Mac computer.

The B4i code will be converted to Objective C and then compiled with the regular Objective C
compiler together with the libraries.
The rapid debugger will allow modifying the code without rebuilding the package making the
"testing cycle" much quicker.

We are now at the first steps of the development of B4i. Many things have not yet been
determined. It is hard to estimate when v1.00 will be ready.
I'm aiming for it to be released before the end of the year..."

Incidentally, although most of my stuff is for a client, I've now got some simple apps in the
Playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=CAMCo&hl=en
