[dba-Tech] Windows 10 activation

I rolled back to Windows 8.1 just to be sure I had that correct. I got the
Windows Activation key using a script and wrote it down. I then let Windows
update intall Windows 10 again, fully expecting it to ask me for the
activation key. It didn't. I went in the settings to check activation status
and this time it automatically activated it. Sometimes doing the same thing
twice does result in different results!

I read your email as upgrading win 8. That article says has to be 8 .1 to
get free upgrade

Hi Martin,
Thanks. I went through the article and I see nothing that I haven't done
correctly. I'll have to see if the client has an activation code in their
box.

Upgrading a Windows 8 Toshiba laptop for a local non-profit.

All went well until Windows 10 asks for an activation code. There's no
sticker on this laptop! It came with Win8 preloaded. Now what to do?
