Before I'm done MS will have 4 hours of tech time invested in my box. :)

And so will I. :(

Glad you got an answer. Sad that the process wouldn't just tell you what
you needed to know. I had a LOT of trouble getting Windows updates to run
on my newest box. But it was one I built myself and it originally had a WIn
8 Pro OS later upgraded to 8.1 and later to 10.
Then I installed a 10 Pro from scratch from a purchased copy of the OS after
it stopped booting at one point.. I5 Chip. SSD primary hard drive with a
secondary rotating drive for Music storage. It's the very box I'm typing
this mail on. It ran into Windows update issues when it was on 8 and later
again on 8.1. As far as I know it's been working OK with that on 10. It's
had spontaneous reboot issues it's whole life. It's the PC hooked up to my
big screen TV with a second 10" LCD Monitor I mostly use. It boots so fast
that having it reboot once in a while hasn't really been that big of a deal.
When it first started happening I did look into it and it seemed as though
it was possibly a driver issue with the SSD controller verses the Video
board and so I haven't had the energy to push the fight and figure out the
correction........it will go for months with no reboots and then do it
3 times in a day. Oh well, I have to type in my Microsoft Password yet
again.......
