Within the animation industry a huge announcement. The Toonz is going open source. It is not a product known to most people outside the industry or even within the industry but it is a 2D movie making application that can make full-feature movies:

The program is used extensively by Studio Ghibli, arguably the greatest animators in the world, so the application could achieve no higher praise. The actual date of the open download has not been announced but soon...
