It didn't take long for the Linux crowd to port Ubuntu and now Arch Linux, ported to Windows using a new feature called the “Windows Subsystem for Linux” or the WSL. The results are quite impressive and it blows the concept of not mucking with Windows subsystem...WSL appears more stable than initially stated:

There are still plenty of bugs but by Christmas most should be resolved. The only downside that has been noted is that this may make the distros a more little insecure. ;-)
