Arthur,

In most cases, the story author doesn't need to change the "home page"
they just basically fill in an online form with their story. They can
either put a "break" in to indicate home much is shown on the home
page before the "more" link shows up. The home page then pulls the x
most recent stories and show them to the user.

Here's an image showing a Wordpress post form.

It really is pretty simple and straight forward.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a
well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,
shouting "What a great ride!"
