Yes, if it is old enough to have an Express Card slot, you can get a USB 3.0 adapter that fits.
I use that in my 11 years old HP Pavilion zd8237.

I suspect that the answer is No, but thought I'd ask anyway. Is there any way to upgrade the USB ports on a laptop to a higher USB version number? A kit or something?
