True, but only GLONASS claims to also have world coverage...but hopefully that will change in a few years.

Very US-centric.

Just about every GPS chip made today is compatible with GLONASS, BEIDOU, GALILEO, 
IRNSS/NAVIC.

The reason for al of these separate systems is precisely so that there is no longer a "single 
point of failure".
