"...Ms has a special download iso for surface rebuilding rather than the generic windows 10 iso." That's helpful.

Recently worked on a surface with a similar issue. I removed the accounts and cleaned it and still didn't gain back the space. Since there was nothing stored on it I reinstalled fresh. Didn't help. Added a mini SD and redirected user storage to it. All is well now.
Fyi Ms has a special download iso for surface rebuilding rather than the generic windows 10 iso.

Can you just use a USB drive and copy off 8-16GB of stuff and restore it later?

Hi Martin

Start with Disk Cleanup (drive C:, Properties) and click "Clean up system files". When ready calculating, mark everything to delete.

I have surface pro 2. Nothing stored on it. I need to recover as much disc space as I can. At least 10gb. Any ideas?
