[dba-Tech] Confusion Reigns...

... in most aspects of my life, but the moment of interest currently
involves the acquisition of a new TV. I think I understand the basic
differences between LCD and LED, but then I suddenly discover new
abbreviations such as OLED and QLED, and have no idea what the vendors are
talking about. And what defines a so-called Smart TV? I see the startup
screen and it has icons for Netflix etc. Does that mean that those are
built-in, as in "no subscription fee necessary"?, Or merely that it's
capable of tuning in to those, assuming I already have a subscription?
Was a day when I thought TV was simple, compared to computers. Wrong again!
Can I assume that regardless of LCD/LED/OLED, all contain at least one HDMI
port and preferably several? Or must I inspect the specs first?
