[dba-VB] .NET 3.5 SP1 to ship this summer. MVC?

Oops. From another source:

SP1 does not include ASP.NET MVC Framework but only one basic element for ASP.NET MVC: Routing. 
Routing allows for nice URLs in traditional ASP.NET WebForm applications as well as ASP.NET MVC when this will be released later this year.

Now, to me the big question is: What is this MVC (Model-View-Controller) pattern for ASP.NET?
Does it represent a new steep learning curve?
