BerichtErwin:

Thanks for your reply. I went looking for MSWORD*.OLB and what do you know, I've got a copy of Word2002 on my machine and I have no idea where it came from. It's in a folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10 which I never created. I don't have OXP. I've downloaded a couple of packages on trials and deleted them. I suppose it could have come from one of those. But can a vendor distribute Word with their app? It's very mysterious.

Now I see Word 10 on my add/remove programs. I suppose I'll remove it. I don't want it. And wait to see what else gets hosed as a result?

Best,

  Hi

You need to copy the MSWORD9.OLB (Word 9 library) file in a seperate folder.
Deselect the reference with Word 10 and add the MSWORD9.OLB from the seperate folder with the browse function

In my experiance this reference is never replaced as long as you have the seperate folder on the computers you develop your db.
On the client computers, Access automaticly uses the same or higher OLD located on the client computers.

Always uses your db as the master file to update clients (copy in one direction).

You can also use this for out outlook excel etc.., just copy the necesary .OLB files from multiples versions to this folder.
Always use a reference to the oldest version from the client computers.
May give some compatibility probs when using an old versions..

  Dear List:

Sorry for the repeat but I asked this question a couple of months ago and I can't find the answer in my notes or the archive so I have to ask again.

I'm running O2K here. Somehow in my references Word 10.0 Object Library has replaced the Word 9.0 Object Library. Again. And I need the 9.0 back because that's what my clients have. Tried using my Office 2000 Professional to repair but no soap.

Someone gave me the answer before - was pretty simple IIRC. I'll save the answer this time. Promise.
