[AccessD] VPN and remote access (AGAIN)

Hello all,
I followed the threads yesterday on this subject because a friend of mine
has been working with some firm for about a month now trying to get her
office pc and her home pc hooked up. They are having all kinds of trouble.
Exactly what I don't know. She wants to be able to share files and work as
if she was on her home pc from her office and vice versa.

Here's what I was wondering if someone would be so kind to do for me. I know
nothing about this at all - other than just very general knowledge.

She is running Windows XP at one location and Windows ME at another
location.

What kinds of issues, if any have you run into, using the two operating
systems?

What are your recommendations for remote access and exactly how would one go
about getting this set up. I know a lot of this info was covered on the
threads yesterday so you can yell at me if you want for making you repeat
yourselves. :)
