Absolutely correct. While a hacker could figure out how to do this fancy stuff, the average spammer answers an ad to make $100,000 / day using only their home computer, gets a simple program that sends a ton of spam and goes to work. They are not hackers, they are not even particularly intelligent. But they generate the majority of spam flying around. Protecting against the stupid with a few minutes work does way more than spending months learning how to protect against the remaining 1% who do know anything at all. John W.
