Because you don't have a native reporting tool available (such as Access). Much harder to produce custom reports in HTML with the flexibility you are used to with Access. This is the reason that there are producst such as "Crystal Reports' on the market. (PS. MS are about to release a new (web based) reporting tool linked to SQL Server but using a similar design interface as Access.
