[AccessD] OT: Wireless network (sort of)

I thought it only used that stuff if you had that protocol enabled for that
NIC.  AFAIK all my workstations only use TCPIP.

John,

  Win2K and WinXP still do LAN Manager and NETBIOS under the covers, so you
still can have the same problems.  If you drill down in the registry under
system services, you'll find all the LAN Manager settings still there.

If any of your other devices are running Windows 95,
Windows 98, or Windows NT (server or workstation) it
can, theoretically, take up to 45 minutes for them to
show up on the network.  I say theoretically because
they rarely take that long to show up but that is the
timeout for Microsoft's "LAN Manager" browser
elections to trickle down.
