[AccessD] Design question

Thanks for all the replies (I only expected one or two) and varied
suggestions. I am going to opt for a lookup list (to ensure 'clean'
data-entry via a drop down combo) but store the actual value (e.g. Mr)
in the 'person' table to overcome the verbose SQL etc.<end>
Cheers
Richard

Hi Arthur

read
a data-cleansing

Boston
19 different ways. > That boggles the mind! But allegedly it's true.

Just finished working on a database with schools...there must be a dozen
ways to spell 'Saint' like in 'Saint Luke's' correctly and many more on
how
to spell it incorrectly or with subtle variations. Saint, Ste. Siant,
St.
Sant. Sant, St, Sainte, Sante, etc.... Cleaning up database can be as
time-consuming as writing the original application.

Observation
Jim
