Hello,

thanks to all who made clear why this error occurred and helping
with suggesting to solve the problem.

Renaming the file and name it back is a simple but effective solution.

to A2k and i get an error when importing a file. The import is done with a
macro with the TransferText action. I use for this an Import spec on a
filename that has an extension ".gyn". The text in this file is normal
textfile in columns. When using this macro i get an error: Cannot update.
Database or object is read-only. I double checked, nothing is read only. In
A97 this works fine. In A2k it only works when changing the extension to
".txt" (the file and the FileName in the macro).

these extensions helps me to keep files separated for different macro's and
different actions.
