Well, they just asked if they could publish it. They didn't address anything about rights or compensation. I suppose I could write back and ask what terms they're proposing.... -C- ---------------------------------------- From: "Rocky Smolin - Beach Access Software" <bchacc at san.rr.com> Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005 11:23 AM To: "Access Developers discussion and problem solving" <accessd at databaseadvisors.com> Subject: SPAM-LOW: Re: [AccessD] Getting published... Are they offering payment? If they are you could go to their website and see if they say what they pay authors. You could look in Writer's Market as well. They'll probably give you a boilerplate contract. They'll probably get first North American rights. Generally, you keep the copyright. Susan could probably tell you a lot more about this. SD Magazine eMailed me this morning to tell me they want to publish one of my blog pieces. I know some of you have been published, so before I respond to them I want to talk with you. What should I ask for? I don't want to get taken advantage of. -C- -- AccessD mailing list AccessD at databaseadvisors.com http://databaseadvisors.com/mailman/listinfo/accessd Website: http://www.databaseadvisors.com -- AccessD mailing list AccessD at databaseadvisors.com http://databaseadvisors.com/mailman/listinfo/accessd Website: http://www.databaseadvisors.com
