Glad I don't work in your shop, Josh.  I understand the problem, but it
would feel more like solitary confinement to me than a good working
environment.

See, in our shop I try to enforce a "no bother" policy. From previous
studies and personal experience, it seems like interrupts will knock
programmers out of efficient-coding land for 15-30 minutes before they
get back into the groove. YMMV though.
