Rocky,

This explains it I think

9/17/2005 From PC Mag Sept 2005 "Can't open file because file is located
outside of your intranet ....."

XP SP2 marks files as having come from a non secure site, in most cases
right clicking on the file and selecting properties, if the secure flag is
set, you will see a button labeled unblock at the bottom of the page, click
this and you should be home.

Sometimes this option may not work, saving the file to a non ntfs format and
then copying it back may also fix the problem.

Note: the Unblock button does not appear on a file that is not marked.

Key Words
MDB (or file) Located outside of your internet .....Cannot open

Subject: [AccessD] Microsoft Access Cannot Open This File

Dear List:

I was at a client site today - his house actually. He was trying to run
my software - an mde - but I don't think that matters - and he gets this
message when the program opens:

Microsoft Access cannot open this file.
This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site.
Microsoft Access will not open the file due to potential
<http://www.experts-exchange.com/Databases/Q_21770111.html#>security
problems. To open the file, copy it to your machine or an accessible
network location."

He's running a stand-alone box, windows XP. Access XP with SP3. I
lowered all the security settings on his IE to their lowest setting. No
soap.

Can't find a solution on the web. Anybody know how to get around this one?

MTIA,

Rocky
