[AccessD] OT Kinda: New Computer

I LOVE my Dell Vostro 1700.

I got the extended 3 year warranty (with Accident Coverage).  It's a 17"
wide screen, full keyboard (including 10 key number pad), 2.2 ghz Duo
Core, 2 160  gig SATA hard drives (that's right, TWO hard drives), 2
gigs of RAM, NVidia video card (which has some nice features, internal
wireless and blue tooth.

Battery lasts about 4 to 5 hours (would last longer if I set the monitor
to be dimmer, but I have it almost full brightness on battery).

The warranty is awesome, within a few weeks of having my laptop, I had
it in my backpack, but I forgot to zipper it, and I dropped my laptop in
the parking lot outside.  The DVD rom just flew out of it.  Got online
with Dell, live, with a tech, they took my 'service number', and I had a
new DVD rom the next day.  

Performance wise, it's just great.  Couldn't be happier.  Only issue
that I have is that is has a PCExpress slot, and NO PCMCIA slot, but it
doesn't bug me, I don't really have anything to use for PCMCIA anyways.

Hello All,

I'm getting ready to shop for a new computer.  I'm thinking laptop.
I've never owned a Mac...but a number of people are trying to talk me
into it.  I still wan't to do some Access work.  I hear people talking
about VM...and I've seen some dual boot machines.  I'm kinda nervous
about trying to run MS Access on a Mac...I just don't know enough?

Any thoughts/advice/experience?

Also, I think the ONLY reasons my friends are suggesting the Mac is for
my photography hobby(even though I rarely edit the photos)...anyway...

Anything is appreciated.
