Hi Rocky: IMHO: 1. Lighter colours are better than darker colours. 2. The only serif fonts should be used in titles. 3. Pretty buttons are currently in vogue. 4. Outlines should be thin and light and if possible with curved corners. 5. All objects should have space around them. 6. A bit of graphic would go a long way to make the page look more sophisticated.
