Why not post the modified and working routine so it's in the archives? OK, not sure exactly how or why but it works. I am now using the function provided by Charlotte, as modified by Martin. I have successfully called Charlotte's function, passed in the server, database, and sp, as well as two parameters. Executed the sp and have BCPed 240K records into a table in SQL Server. Thanks to all for your assistance. While I do not understand what the whole thing does, I can at least use it, and can study it as an example of how to do this in the future should I need to. Again, thanks! John W.
