Same process as adding an "<All>" to a combobox list and setting the default to row(0) will take care of the combobox. I'd use the default value for the textbox. Then before you save the record, either zap those values or require the user to enter a value before saving. " These are bound combos and text boxes. I can think of a couple kludgey ways to do this - overlays with label text that are visible only if there's nothing in the field would be one.
