Another approach completely, but possibly useful. You could use the OnEnter
event to automatically drop the combo down. It's dead simple:

<yourCombo>.DropDown

A while ago a client asked for that behaviour on a form that had about a
dozen combo boxes on it. After I had added that code to each combo, I
rather liked all the activity. You could press Tab several times and move
from control to control, each opening on Enter and closing on the next Tab
press.
