I've done that as well and users really like that. But the F-Lock key was the answer and he was happy as a pig in dirt with that. It's dead simple: <yourCombo>.DropDown A while ago a client asked for that behaviour on a form that had about a dozen combo boxes on it. After I had added that code to each combo, I rather liked all the activity. You could press Tab several times and move from control to control, each opening on Enter and closing on the next Tab press.
