I spent $300 for a 500GB Samsung EVO SSD for my $1000 HP Envy 17. Night and day difference in performance, loading and writing EVERYTHING. Laptops are crippled with their crappy 5400 RPM drives, but even 7200 drives are three times slower than a good SSD. It's like buying a ferrari and hooking it up to a Clydesdale to pull it down the road. Plus the SSD has no moving parts and is lower powered. What's not to like (other than price). John W.
