I have now tried everything like that, but came across an old post in the
Dell forums that they knew of a black out issue, there is a solution when
its out of warranty to replace one of the capacitors on the board inside
the monitor, so as I have tried everything else I nay just take it apart
and have a look, if I cant fix it will just take the hit and buy another.

Thank you for yours and everyone elses help.

Paul
